TOWARDS RISK-RESILIENT DEVELOPMENT: TAKING INTO CONSIDERATION DEMOGRAPHIC TRENDS AND NATURAL CONSTRAINTS
Mrs Rachel Makri stated: «Although in the 2009 , it was recommended by the then special Rapporteur on the human rights of migrants Mr Jonge Bustamente , that States should have reviewed their national and regional laws and policies with a view to bringing them in line with the international legal framework in other to protect the human rights of refugee children.
Although European Union approved in May 2010 the action plan on unaccompanied minors, little to nothing has been done from the Hellenic Government in order to copy with issues. Unfortunately, the large number of unaccompanied children entering Greece and the high mobility make more difficult, even impossible to ensure effective application of children. Protection rules, notably though enforcement cooperation information, education and redress.
